The Shea’s Wonder Awards program, a high school musical theatre awards program, is a dynamic initiative designed to celebrate and support the arts in high schools, foster excellence in musical theatre, and provide valuable educational opportunities for students. This year 1,511 students from across Western New York are participating in Shea’s Wonder Awards. The 2024-25 participating schools stretch across Erie, Niagara Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany and Wyoming Counties.
Throughout the school year 34 adjudicators attended local high school musicals, providing feedback and scoring each high school production in various categories. The Shea’s Wonder Award ceremony will announce the winners in categories related to best performance, vocals, dance, music, lighting, set, costume, hair and makeup, direction, choreography, and more. In addition, two students participating in the “Student Talent And Growth Experience” STAGE Program will be selected to compete in The Jimmy Awards, the national high school theatre awards program, which will be held in New York City on June 23, 2025.

Welcome to Shea's Buffalo Theatre! The historic crown jewel of Shea’s PAC, opened in 1926 under the moniker of “The Wonder Theatre,”. Over the past 20 years, there has been over $30 million in restoration completed, all by volunteers, to keep the only surviving Tiffany designed theater in magnificent condition for our patrons and the community.
