Position Summary: The Part Time Staff Accountant position supports the accounting department of Shea’s mainly by summarizing detailed information, the culmination of which is to record transactions in the General Ledger as journal entries. The position will also support Accounts Payable, Payroll, and perform special projects, as needed. Pay is at $25/hr. with a minimum of 20 hours a week.
Essential Functions:
Transactions may include (but are not limited to):
Daily:
- Collect daily transaction summary from the Box Office and prepare daily ticket journal entry.
- Collect Concessions deposits by show, summarize and prepare journal entry.
- Print invoices for Development and Marketing when they need sponsorship invoices.
Weekly:
- Download Summary of General banking activity and prepare entry as necessary.
Monthly:
- Reconcile accounts receivable aging.
- Record recurring monthly journal entries.
Annual:
- Import budget information by project into accounting software.
- Assistance with year-end schedules for audit.
Quarterly:
- Assist with quarterly Guardian Disability and New York Paid Family Leave payments.
Projects:
- Fixed Asset project which will include working with multiple departments to see what fixed assets we have and what we don’t have anymore. Then update our fixed assets in our accounting software.
- Update ADP employee profiles so we have better reports for grants and year end audits.
Education and Experience:
- Associate Degree in Accounting required; additional upper-level accounting course work preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years detailed accounting experience encouraged. Relevant experience may be substituted for the degree.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be detail oriented, and able to self-start.
- Multi-task, prioritization abilities are essential.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Working knowledge of computers and office software.
